On October 1st from 6-8pm I will be teaching you about authentic SuperFoods. You will have to come to the course to find out my entire list of the top 10 SuperFoods and get recipes on how to use them. One of the most extraordinary is coconut. I consider coconut a miracle.
Coconut oil is healing to the body both inside and out. It is a saturated fat, which is made up of mostly medium chain fatty acids that the body metabolizes quickly and converts into energy. This is not a dangerous saturated fat, even though it hardens when cool, it does not mean that it clogs your arteries. Coconut oil is HDL (good cholesterol) not LDL (bad cholesterol). It is the HDL that prevents the LDL from sticking to the arteries.
Cultures from around the globe have been using this food as medicine for centuries.
Coconut oil contains lauric acid which is helpful in reducing the candida due to its be anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties. It also contains DHA, which is beneficial for healthy eyes, brain, and moods and is important in balance with for a reduction in inflammation.
Coconut oil also:
- Helps with weight loss
- Cures Alzheimer’s disease
- Cures thyroid
- Reduces candida
Coconut oil can help the ease of digestion. It is also known to help the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. It can help the body use Omega 3 fatty acids almost twice as efficiently.
Here are some of my favorite uses for raw, organic, virgin coconut:
1.Granola (shredded)
2.SuperFood bars and raw cookies (finely shredded)
3.A fantastic base for muffins (coconut flour)
4.Coconut butter (with turmeric) to use in place of butter
5.Fermented Coconut yogurt (yum!)
6.Lovely moisturizer for the skin (whole body including hair)
7.Sautéing, roasting, broiling, grilling (coconut oil is one of the only safe oils to heat)
8.Making raw chocolate delicacies (all forms)
9.Coconut water and milk – pure
10.Base for sauces and dressings
