Back to School Preparations Peach Fruit Rollups Recipe

With school starting next week I am preparing the kitchen. I know that the mornings will be busy getting everyone out the door in time before the bells ring with nourishing foods to help us all connect with each other and be ready for learning. What do you put in a lunch box? I ate peanut butter and jelly every day of my life when I was in school. Packaged foods are easy to buy in bulk and throw into the lunch box. Practical right? Yes, but do you realize that your children will learn better, have better social relations and will not get sick if you feed them a tasty and health giving diet made with love from your own hands?

It is true, I assure you from personal experience as well as researched experience.

In preparation for next week, I had some beautiful peaches which were ripening and thought to blend them and dehydrate them for fruit roll ups. You can spread almond butter on fruit rollups for a great lunch or snack for your child. You just need a blender and a dehydrator.

Peach Fruit Rollups

3 peaches, pitted

1t vanilla

2t freshly squeezed lemon juice (to prevent browning from oxidization)

Blend peaches, vanilla and lemon and pour onto teflex dehydrator sheets and dehydrate until dry. Take a piece of wax paper or parchment paper (plastic wrap will work too), and lay overtop dry fruit rollup and roll with the paper. If you skip this step the fruit rollup will stick to itself. Will keep for three weeks.


You can use any fruit combination for fruit rollups. As a base though, you will need a fruit high in pectin such as apples, pears or peaches.
